Dominus partners with Guildhall School for the first ever Lady Mayor’s Show
Dominus is proud to continue its partnership with Guildhall School of Music & Drama by supporting their entry into the first ever Lady Mayor’s Show in the heart of the City of London.
Sixty wind, brass and percussion students from the School’s Guildhall Young Artists (GYA) network will form a groundbreaking Drum & Bass marching band, adding a contemporary take on the oldest civic procession in the world. The band’s musicians, all between the ages of 13 and 18, are drawn from Junior Guildhall, Centre for Young Musicians, GYA King’s Cross and GYA Online. They will be joined in the procession by a DJ truck, playing Drum & Bass arrangements and tracks from Guildhall Electronic & Produced Music cohort. The students will come together in collaboration with Guildhall Production Studio, the School’s award-winning, full-service production studio.
Dominus’ support continues the company’s partnership with the School – which includes funding an annual scholarship for a talented Guildhall student – as part of its ongoing support for opportunities that empower young people, nurture emerging talent and strengthen London’s cultural future.
The Lady Mayor’s Show will see Dame Susan Langley DBE become the 697th Lord Mayor of London – only the third woman to hold the post in over 800 years, and the first ever to be titled the ‘Lady Mayor of London’.
